Young Spanish winger Lamine Yamal (18) is set to play his first World Cup, where he is expected to lead La Roja’s ambitions at the 2026 World Cup after proving himself as one of the world’s hottest talents in recent seasons.

Yamal was born in Spain to a Moroccan father and an Equatorial Guinean mother on July 13, 2007. He was in high demand to represent the Atlas Lions, but in the end he chose the European national team.

The Barcelona star explained that his decision was made because of his upbringing in Spain and his desire to compete in European tournaments such as Euro 2024, which he won.

Yamal played for the first time with the Spanish national team in September 2023 and has since become an important element of the team.
