Klopp talks about Real Madrid again… and picks his candidate for the World Cup

The former coach of “Liverpool” Jurgen Klopp refused to answer the question about what he has to do with coaching “Real Madrid” recently.

The German coach, one of the most prominent voices in European football of the last decade, is currently analyzing the 2026 World Cup from the USA and in an interview with the newspaper.La Gazzetta dello SportHe gave a very distinctive answer when he was directly asked about Real Madrid.

The question was clear: the Spanish club was an option for him. Instead of going into details, Klopp answered with a laugh before avoiding the topic.

“Now I am answering this question, and everything I have said so far disappears, is canceled,” he joked.

Then he added a short but decisive sentence. “There’s Jose Mourinho… that’s good. So, no comment.”

But he was more clear when talking about Carlo Ancelotti and his attempt to lead the coaching staff of the Brazilian national team.

Klopp did not hesitate to praise the Italian coach, whom he considers the ideal candidate to lead the team full of talents, but in need of an organizational structure.

“If I were Brazilian and I was asked about the ideal national team coach, I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment: Carlo.”

For Klopp, Ancelotti’s influence could be crucial for Brazil, who he says have “huge potential” but need someone to really unleash it.

The former coach of “Liverpool” explained. “They lack some tactical discipline and there is no better person to help them improve. Carlo is great, the Brazilians are lucky.”

The German coach also expressed his surprise at the overall level of the World Cup, as he confirmed that he found a more open competition, where the smaller teams play boldly and the bigger teams have to impose their control from the start.

He pointed out that there is an unbridled desire to impose, play and record without giving rise to speculation. However, Klopp still clings to his old complaint: too many games.

“There are a lot of games for big players in general,” he insisted.

Heroism also has an emotional side that is hard to ignore. Watching the likes of Curacao, Cape Verde and Haiti compete in the World Cup is “amazing” to him, although he admits it’s not an ideal formula for him.

As for the timing of drinking water, one of the tournament’s contentious issues, Klopp defended its usefulness in difficult conditions but criticized its duration.

On a sporting level, Klopp believes Germany are the most popular contenders to win the title and has highlighted the development of teams such as Norway and Japan.

But it was his comment about “Real” that caused controversy. when asked on the Real Madrid bench, the German laughed, looked away, avoiding the uproar his answer might have caused, and chose to avoid the question.
