Germany’s football association has begun examining the future of the national team’s coaching staff following their disappointing exit from the 2026 World Cup, amid new developments that could put Jurgen Klopp back in the coaching chair.
Germany crashed out of the tournament early after losing to Paraguay in the round of 32, raising doubts over coach Julian Nagelsmann’s future despite his desire to stay at Manschaff.
According to reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Jurgen Klopp would be open to exploring a return to training should the German FA decide to contact him in the near future.

Romano explained via his platform X account that Nagelsmann still wants to continue his mission, but the final decision remains in the hands of the German federation officials, who will decide the fate of the technical staff after evaluating the World Cup participation.
He added that Klopp does not mind listening to the project of the German national team and is interested in the idea of leading the “Manshaft” if he receives an official offer.
Klopp retired from coaching after leaving Liverpool before taking up the managerial role at Red Bull Group, but his name has always been in the running to take charge of Germany’s national team, especially in the face of any setbacks for the national team.
With Germany’s early exit from the World Cup, the coming days look crucial in determining Nagelsmann’s future and whether the DFB will move towards change, with Jurgen Klopp remaining one of the most prominent names being tipped to replace him.
