Israeli attacks on Gaza have killed at least 871 Palestinians since a ceasefire was declared last year.

Israeli raids across the Gaza Strip killed at least five people, including three in Deir el-Balah, and others in Khan Younis and Beit Lahiya.
Sunday’s attack in the central city of Deir el-Balah targeted a public kitchen and all three victims were charity workers, according to Al Jazeera’s Hind Khoudary, from Gaza City.
“This shows that Israel is not only targeting the people, but also the organizations that serve the people in Gaza,” Khoudary added.
In the same attack, Hamas said it was “a deliberate war crime and a new act of killing our people in the Gaza Strip”.
“This is happening in the world’s unjustified silence and inaction that allows this operation to continue to kill many people, in complete disregard of all international principles, norms and laws,” the army said.
According to Gaza Health Ministry figures published on Sunday, Israel’s war in Gaza has killed at least 72,760 Palestinians since October 7, 2023, including at least 871 since the ceasefire was said to have started last October.
The Israeli army has taken about 60 percent of the Gaza Strip, cut off by the so-called “yellow line” buffer zone.
In the area on Sunday, the Israeli army said its soldiers killed a man saying, without providing evidence, that the victim was armed and threatening the army.
The military statement also said that a senior Hamas official, identified as Bahaa Baroud, had been killed. There was no immediate confirmation from the group.
