For nearly three decades, Watson has told sporting stories across Northern Ireland, covering the North West 200 motorcycle road race, senior men’s international football matches, Ulster rugby matches and Irish Cup finals.
He has interviewed the biggest names in sports and showcased the achievements of sports at the grassroots and youth levels.
The recipient of two kidney transplants, she devotes her spare time to fundraising for various charities including Northern Ireland Kidney Research, Kidney Care UK and Children’s Kidney Fund NI.
He organizes events each year highlighting the work of the Regional Nephrology and Transplant Service at Belfast City Hospital and volunteers with Age NI, sharing stories of sport with older people across Northern Ireland.

Ian Bamford, past winner of the Irish Amateur Open and former Royal Portrush captain, has been appointed for his services to amateur golf.
Irish Football Association disability manager Alan Crookes was honored for his services to disability football, as was former Downpatrick Racecourse manager Richard Little for services to the horse racing industry.
Brian Walsh, former manager of the Ireland cricket team, was similarly honored for his services to cricket.
