Karolina Muchova: Wimbledon finalist to miss ‘a few weeks’ after ‘minor surgery’

Wimbledon finalist Karolina Muchova is set to be out for “a few weeks” after undergoing “minor surgery”.

The 29-year-old star lost to Czech compatriot Linda Noskova An extraordinary and dramatic three-set final at the All England Club earlier this month.

Muchova, who has dealt with several wrist injuries throughout her career, did not specify what the current issue was, nor did she specify an exact timeframe for a return.

He confirmed he would miss the Canadian Open in Toronto, which starts on August 1, but was working on his recovery with the US Open starting on August 23.

“I had to have a minor surgery that will keep me off the court for a few weeks,” Muchova said.

“Everything was going well, and I’m already working on my recovery. Sorry to miss Toronto this year. I was really looking forward to my debut there, but recovery comes first.”

Muchova, ranked sixth in the world, lost in her second Grand Slam final at Wimbledon, also losing to Iga Svitek in the 2023 French Open final.
