Kaka with a touching confession. This player and I are the worst deals for Real Madrid

The Brazilian star confirms he has faced two problems with the Royals

Former Brazil star Kaka has opened up about his experience with Real Madrid, admitting that his time at the Santiago Bernabeu did not live up to the expectations that accompanied his 2009 move from Milan.

Speaking on the Rio Ferdinand podcast, former England star Kaká said his experience in the Spanish capital was full of lessons on a personal and professional level, despite the challenges he faced.

“I arrived at Real Madrid after being the best player in the world, but if you look for the worst deals in the club’s history today, you’ll find my name alongside Eden Hazard. This is the truth that people are talking about.”

The 2007 Ballon d’Or winner explained that injuries were the first reason for his drop in form, while the second reason was the selection of Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho, who preferred to rely on other names in the starting line-up.

“My first problem was the injuries, and the second was the coach’s decisions. Mourinho preferred Mesut Ozil, Angel Di Maria, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Kaka noted that that stage made him question his true identity, adding: “I asked myself, am I the best player in the world or one of the worst deals for Real Madrid?”
