It’s been 24 years since Brazil lifted the World Cup in Yokohama, but Kaka has still been able to trace the moment that most defined his sporting career. He is not talking about the goal or the decisive game. He tells about the moment when his hands touched the cup, which is the biggest dream of every football star.
“Lifting the trophy was the most exciting moment of my life,” Kaka recalled at an event organized by Adidas and attended exclusively by Marca newspaper in Spain.
That photo is more than just a memory. This is the end of a journey that began many years ago… the kid who celebrated the title of Brazil in 1994, the teenager who suffered the defeat in 1998 and the young man of just 20 who ended up being part of an inimitable team.
He emphasized. “Each World Cup reminds me how special this tournament is. It is very difficult to be there. “Very few players have the opportunity to play in the final.”
How the final match is played before the starting whistle
Marca continued. “The interesting thing is that Kaka barely played in that World Cup (2002). He was even going to play in the final against Germany. Luiz Felipe Scolari called him in. He waited on the sidelines for several minutes, but the ball did not leave the field.
“Scolari called me and I waited in line for five or seven minutes, but the ball didn’t leave the pitch. When the game was over, I just had time to go back to the bench, pick up my flag and start celebrating.”
He never saw it as a missed opportunity. on the contrary. That summer changed the way he understood football forever.
“It was a blessing,” he says. “It changed my life and my career. I spent 52 days living with the best players in the world and learning from them.”
A heroism that matured him… That’s why he explains everything so well now. “There are moments of hope, fear, anxiety… You have to learn to balance all these emotions.”
So if he could give one piece of advice to the players heading to the Meterlife Stadium on Sunday, it would be very simple. “Do everything you can. Give it 100 percent.” The worst thing you can feel afterwards is to think you could have done more and you didn’t.”

When Kaka analyzes Spain’s clash with Argentina, he sees two very different paths to the final.
He said about Argentina. “They never give up. They always struggle. They proved it against Cape Verde, Egypt and England. The power of never giving up is a very special thing.”
Kaka paused for a few more seconds on the name Lamine Yamal, noting that the coming night could change his life forever.
He said about him. “At the age of nineteen, he can become the world champion tomorrow. This could change his entire career as well as his personal life.”
He said about Messi. “He has already won everything. And also the World Cup. But to see him at 39 years old, playing the way he’s playing and keeping the motivation to keep competing… It’s an inspiration not just on the field, but in life.”
He noted that Messi is different from most people, adding: “He is a person with a very strong mentality. Most people, when they achieve all their goals, lower their level a little. He’s not, he’s still looking for more, he’s still trying to improve. This inspires me a lot.”
