John Rahm will qualify for next year’s Ryder Cup in Ireland after agreeing to continue playing on the DP World Tour and end his “standoff”.
The Spaniard has been involved in a long-running dispute with the European Tour and in 2010 Since his first breakaway tour in 2024, he has refused to pay a fine for playing LIV events without official permission.
Rahm, 31, was ineligible for DP World Tour events and was not in good standing as a member for next year’s Ryder Cup selection.

He will now pay a fine of around £2m and be required to play at least five DP World Tour events.

Laurie Kanter, Tom McKibbin, Thomas Detri, Victor Perez, Adrian Meronc, David Piug and Australia’s Elvis Smiley are among those who have reached an agreement to decide two of the tournaments to be played on the tour.
Rahm’s deal is said to be similar to what the other eight players agreed to last February.
