Ex-Hull FC head coach John Cartwright has taken over as the new head coach of the Catalan Dragons for the rest of the season.
Cartwright resigned His role at Hull last month As they have appointed Steve McNamara for 2027 Andy Lust has been in interim charge for the remainder of this year.
The Australian was still under contract at the MKM Stadium, but has now been released for a move to France.
The Dragons were later without a head coach Joel Tomkins exit, who took a job in rugby union with Gloucester.
“It came completely out of the blue which makes it even more exciting,” Cartwright said.
“I can’t thank Bernard (Guash, Catalan CEO) enough for this opportunity.”
The Catalans are eighth in the Super League table, with Hull FC two points behind in ninth.
