Jackery announces ‘world’s smallest’ fridge battery

Jackery is jumping on the fridge battery bandwagon with what it calls the “world’s thinnest.” FridgeGuard looks great; the rest of the lights tend to look more at home in the workplace than in the kitchen or living room.

Measuring 2.63 inches (67mm) thick, the Jackery FridgeGuard power outlet is designed to be installed on top, side, or behind your refrigerator and is stable with a 10ms UPS switch during power outages. Its low 800W AC output (1600W peak) and 1kWh LFP battery keep the US fridge/freezer combo running. about 10 hours – or double if you add a 1kWh expansion battery. Jackery says its cooling fans operate at 40dB, or as loud as a standard fridge.

Although they are designed for refrigerators, there is nothing to prevent you from placing it in the bedroom so that the CPAP machine can work in the dark, or in the living room so that you can use life-saving devices such as the game console and the TV until the group returns.

Jackery’s FridgeGuard joins a growing line of small batteries designed to protect food from spoilage during power outages. Biolite was one of the first (finally shipped in August), later Bluetti and newcomers like line up.

FridgeGuard is available initially as a Costco exclusive in the US starting June 22nd. It is priced at $559.99 for members.
