I’ve been writing for The Verge for 6 weeks. Ask me anything!

Hello my friends! Friends of the protocol! My reading friends!

I’m David, a professional journalist and affiliate Waveform Podcast. I’ll be hosting a subscriber-only “AMA” today at 11AM PT / 2PM ET. For the next six weeks, I will write the comments of the elder Allison Johnsonwho you probably know well. This means that I will be writing about new products from Apple, Google, Samsung, and services. I’ve already done it for free Seasideincluding camera reviewsgo to Change the trigger event 2and hosting sessions for Vergecast and Ancient Historyso you may have seen me before!

I’ve been covering technology since 2007 when I saw the first iPhone unveiled at MacWorld on a school trip. Then I went to buy an Android phone the next year. When I was in high school, Microsoft paid me $100 to put one of my Android apps on the Windows Phone store, but we all know how that turned out. I left my engineering job at Intel to advance Android Authority from 2016 to 2021, I am working as Marques Brownlee author and help run Studio Channel for many years.

My specialties include: computer and analog recording, process, emoji and languagesbut I always try to measure the delta between what companies say they are offering and how people actually use the technology. And most of all, I care about how technology interacts with our lives, for better or for worse. Please bring it round computerI am begging you.

If you want to know anything, ask questions, and I will be happy to answer!
