He added that representatives from Hamas and other Palestinian groups are expected to travel to Cairo in the coming days to present their responses to the newly proposed measures.

Qassem said the Palestinian factions had already agreed on a proposal that had been accepted by mediators, before Peace Board envoy Nikolay Mladenov presented what he called “various options” that are under final review by Hamas and the factions.

“We believe that the efforts of the mediators and Mr. Mladenov will lead to forcing the project to fulfill the agreed terms, especially the humanitarian aid of the first phase, and move to the second phase with all its difficulties,” said Qassem.

Regarding the situation on the ground, Qassem accused Israel of serious violations of the ceasefire agreement, including aid restrictions and killings.

He told Anadolu that more than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire came into force, adding that Israel has extended the “yellow line” in the new Gaza Strip, along with displacement and demolition of buildings.
