Israeli attack kills young girl in Gaza zone | Israel-Palestine War News

Israeli drones hit tents in al-Mawasi, Khan Younis, killing two Palestinians and injuring several others.

Israel has killed a Palestinian child in the Gaza Strip, as its forces continue to attack tents housing refugees despite a “ceasefire” that designated the southern areas as safe zones.

Medical sources told Al Jazeera reporters in Gaza that an Israeli attack on two makeshift tents in Khan Younis on Saturday killed at least two Palestinians, including a girl, and injured four others.

Gaza’s security forces said their forces found seven wounded people at the scene of an Israeli attack on tents in al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis. The injured were taken to Nasser Hospital and Red Cross Hospital.

Separately, a 10-year-old Palestinian boy died from wounds sustained in an earlier Israeli bombardment in southern Gaza.

A specialist at Nasser Hospital told the Anadolu news agency that Walid Youssef Abu Jazar died after being injured a few days ago during an Israeli demonstration on al-Mawasi.

Al Jazeera’s Tareq Abu Azzoum, from Gaza City on Saturday, said that Israel has continued to attack despite the “ceasing of fighting”.

“There has been a lot of pressure on the Israeli policy since the end of the war last year,” he said.

“In the past hours, we received reports that Israeli drones hit temporary tents in the al-Mawasi area, which was designated according to the ceasefire as a safe haven for thousands of Palestinians,” he added, referring to the attack that killed two people.

Azzoum said that in addition to the airstrikes in Israel, “we are seeing the number of drones that we are still hearing in the sky”.

Israel is fighting against children on purpose

Israel’s killing of Palestinian children has come under scrutiny after a United Nations report documented the needs of children in Gaza and found that children accounted for nearly 30 percent of those killed since the beginning of the massacre in October 2023.

Child rights activist Rachel Accurso, known as Ms Rachel, spoke alongside one of the authors of the report and said the world has failed to stop the killings.

“We see children like ours trying to survive, but nothing has been done, there is no crime,” he said on Friday.

Chris Sidoti, the UN Commissioner who co-authored the report, said the findings were “deeply disappointing”.

“Governments have a responsibility to act,” Sidoti added. “We could have done it three and a half years ago, but it’s never too late to start.”

The Ministry of Health in Gaza has said that Israel’s war has killed at least 73,043 Palestinians since October 2023 and injured 173,417 others.

Israel has killed 1,031 Palestinians and wounded 3,309 others since the October 2025 “ceasefire”, it added.
