More than 400 people have been killed since the operation began in mid-April.

Israeli airstrikes have killed at least 11 people in southern Lebanon, including several medical workers.

This happened on Friday in Tire district. They are the latest in a long line, questioning the stability of the United States’ permanent ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon.

More than 400 people have been killed by Israeli fire since the deal took effect in mid-April. Israel has insisted it will continue to fight Hezbollah, which opposes the Lebanese government’s ceasefire agreement.

6 people were confirmed dead in the city of Deir Qanoun en-Nahr during the Israeli attack, including two medics and a child. In another attack, about 12km (7 miles) from the town of Hannaouiyah, four supporters were killed. An attack on the southern city of Nabatieh left one person dead.

Israel also carried out several attacks in southern Lebanon on Friday, according to the National News Agency. The targets were four villages in the district of Tyre.

‘Systemic failure’

The Israeli army has repeatedly attacked hospitals and medical units in Lebanon, accusing Hezbollah of using them to hide weapons and fighters.

The Lebanese government denies this. They say that since Israel and Hezbollah stepped up in early March, 116 medical workers have been killed, 16 hospitals have been destroyed, and 147 ambulances have been attacked.

Health Minister Rakan Nassereddine recently condemned the “destruction of the health system”.

Israel returned to war with Iran-backed Hezbollah when the Lebanese-based militia announced its support for Tehran in early March.

Israel’s offensive has since killed at least 2,896 people in Lebanon, injured more than 8,824, and displaced more than 1.6 million people – about a fifth of the country’s population.

A ceasefire brokered by the United States came into effect in mid-April, the first direct talks between Lebanon and Israel in more than three decades.

Last week, the ceasefire was extended by 45 days, but violence has continued, and Hezbollah continues to trade with Israel.

In August, the Lebanese government promised to disarm Hezbollah, but the task has been difficult. The group remains influential in Lebanon and controls a military wing that is stronger than the government’s army.

On Thursday, the US imposed sanctions on nine people linked to the group, including Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon.

The US Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control said the rest worked in Lebanon’s parliament, military and security.

The Lebanese army insisted on Friday that all of its soldiers are loyal, rejecting sanctions that included, for the first time, an army general accused of sharing information with Hezbollah.
