The National News Agency (NNA) in Lebanon said at least three people were killed in an Israeli attack on the town of Shoukine in the Nabatieh district.

Earlier, an Israeli attack on a vehicle in the village of Kfar Dajjal killed two people. A house was also hit in Lwaizeh village, killing three, while an attack on Shoukin village killed two others, NNA said.

The Israeli army also carried out an airstrike near Al-Saada Bakery near al-Quds suburb in Nabatieh city, and warplanes hit the town of Siddiqine in Tire district.

Israel says its militants have been fighting the Iranian-backed Hezbollah group in Lebanon, but most of the casualties have been civilians.

At least 44 people have been killed in Israeli attacks in Lebanon in the past two days alone, according to NNA. The death toll in Israel since the resumption of hostilities on March 2 has risen to at least 2,618, Lebanon’s Ministry of Health said on Friday.

More than one million people in Lebanon have also been registered as refugees since the start of the war.

Hezbollah has said it will continue its attacks

Meanwhile, Hezbollah on Friday vowed to continue attacking Israeli forces inside Lebanese territory.

In its statement, the group said it was monitoring several gatherings of Israeli soldiers and vehicles in several towns in southern Lebanon, including military weapons near the house of Moussa Abbas in Bint Jbeil and the village of Hula, as well as an attack on the army in Biyyada using a suicide squad.

In recent days, the group has been using small fiber-optic drones to target Israeli tanks. Three Israeli soldiers have been killed.

Beyond the military presence, Hezbollah said it targeted military equipment, including a Humvee military vehicle in the town of Taybeh and a Merkava tank in Rishaf, both of which were hit by drones.

The latest war between Israel and Hezbollah began on March 2, when Hezbollah fired rockets into northern Israel two days after the United States and Israel launched a war against Iran.

Since then Israel has carried out hundreds of airstrikes and ground attacks in southern Lebanon, seizing many towns and villages along the border.

Washington’s 10-day ban went into effect on April 17 and was later extended by three weeks.

Reporting from Beirut, Al Jazeera’s Rory Challands said the ceasefire exists in name only.
