Moroccan press reports reveal international defender Nasir Mazraoui’s stance on the upcoming World Cup first-round clash between the Atlas Lions and his Brazilian counterparts.
The “Atlas Lions” are in the third group alongside Brazil, Haiti and Scotland, with a task that seems difficult and ambitious at the same time.
According to the Moroccan newspaper “Al-Muntahab”. Mazraui is focused on a quick recovery from his shoulder injury During the friendly match against Norway.
Despite early injury concerns, the early signs look positive with plenty of optimism that he could feature in Morocco’s opening match.
Mazraui has been regarded as one of the most popular mainstays in the national team in recent years due to his tactical flexibility and ability to play in more than one position in the full-back line. He was also one of the important pillars that contributed to Morocco’s historic achievement in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The team’s technical staff, led by coach Mohamed Wehbe, relies heavily on Mazraoui’s experience and ability to deal with key matches, not only on the defensive side, but also in building attacks and supporting the front line, making him a key element in the Atlas Lions’ tactical system.
The Morocco-Brazil match will take place on the morning of Sunday, June 14, while Morocco continue their journey against Scotland in the group stage on June 20, before the final against Haiti on the 25th of the same month.
