Trump is monitoring the situation in Iran as Tehran insists that talks are ongoing and there is no final deal.

The prospect of US-Iran cooperation to solve the problem the conflict remained Uncertain Friday, President Donald Trump says he will make a “final decision” on the deal, while Iranian officials stressed that there was no understanding.

The Supreme Leader of Iran, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibafhe said Tehran will judge any agreement by actions and not words, adding that no steps will be taken unless Washington takes action.

Meanwhile, the war continued in other parts of the region. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Israeli forces will continue to cross the Litani River in Lebanon, as Israeli airstrikes across Lebanon on Friday left dozens of people reportedly killed or wounded.

• Iran says talks are ongoing, but no agreement yet: Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said that exchanges with the United States were continuing but insisted that no final agreement had been reached. He rejected the approach of Trump’s demands and said that the closure of the US military was illegal, adding that Tehran will judge any easing of sanctions with actions rather than words.

• CENTCOM reports on regional deployments: US Central Command (CENTCOM) said its forces remain “presence and alert” across the region, sharing a photo of an F-16 fighter jet patrolling the Middle East.
• The US is pushing its allies to increase defense spending: Speaking at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said that Trump is planning to spend $1.5 trillion on defense and described it as part of the history of the expansion of the American military. Hegseth urged allies to spend at least 3.5 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) on defense, warning that countries that failed to do so could face a change in their relationship with Washington. He added that the US remains committed to preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
• Washington praises Israel-Lebanon security talks: The US Department of Defense described the military-to-military talks between the Israeli and Lebanese delegations in Washington as “productive”, saying that they focus on security and stability. The Pentagon reaffirmed its support for the Lebanese government and its integrity.

In the US

• Doubts remain after the White House talks: Reports from the White House, Al Jazeera’s Alan Fisher said there was no clarity after the Trump Situation Room meeting on whether a final deal with Iran had been reached. Fisher said any easing of restrictions around the Strait of Hormuz would represent progress, but officials are waiting for more information from the White House.

• Air raid sirens sound in northern Israel: The Israeli military said it intercepted several projectiles that came from Lebanon, with one landing near Kiryat Shmona in northern Israel. The military said there were no casualties and did not specify whether the projectiles were rockets or drones.

• Netanyahu says Israeli soldiers have crossed the Litani River: Israel’s Netanyahu said the Israeli army has moved north of the Litani river near Nabatieh, which indicates an increase in operations in southern Lebanon. The move comes amid Israeli-Lebanon talks and could be followed by further strikes in Beirut and the western Bekaa Valley.
