Fears of another US strike on Iran are looming as Israeli attacks on Lebanon continue despite a ‘ceasefire’.

The President of the United States Donald Trump said warned Iran that “the clock is ticking” to reach an agreement to end the war as reports have emerged that Washington and Israel are planning to carry out airstrikes on Iran.

“For Iran, the clock is ticking, and they have to move, FAST, or there will be nothing left,” Trump said. he wrote on his Truth Social platform. “TIME IS ESSENTIAL!”

Iran’s Defense Ministry spokesman Reza Talaei-Nik said on Sunday that the army was “ready” to deal with any aggression from the US and Israel.

Saudi Arabia on Monday said it had seized three drones, a day after a drone attack hit the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant in the United Arab Emirates.

In the meantime, Israel continued on its way bombs in Lebanon even further extension of the “cease fire”.

As the US-Israel war on Iran continues into its 80th day, here’s what we know:

In Iran

• Mohsen Rezaei, a member of Tehran’s Expediency Council and a former head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, warned the US to withdraw from Iran’s ports, saying the Iranian military was ready to fight again. Rezaei made the warning while speaking to state television.
• Talaei-Nik said Iran’s military “is ready to deal with any threat that the US and Israel may make against the country”.

Discussions of war

• Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s ambassador to international organizations in Vienna, said in the X post that Iran should appoint a special representative in Moscow, similar to the plan between Tehran and China.
• In the letter X, Jean-Luc Melenchon, leader of the French left-wing party La France Insoumise, criticized “European cooperation” for the US-Israeli attack on Iran, which has led to a major war in the region.

In the Gulf

• The New York Times reported that the Israeli army operated two “hidden” sites in the western desert of Iraq and killed a shepherd and a soldier in an attempt to hide in one near the town of al-Nukhaib.
• After the nuclear attack started the fire, the UAE Ministry of Defense said that two more drones had “successfully” been released “on the western border”. It didn’t explain much.
• A drone that bypassed UAE defenses hit a power generator outside the central Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant, the Abu Dhabi Media Office said. Radiation safety standards were not affected, and there were no injuries, it said. The UAE’s Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation later confirmed that the plant remained safe without the radioactive material released during the strike.
• Saudi Arabia said the three drones it seized came from an Iraqi airfield and warned it would take action against any attempt to violate its sovereignty and security.

In the US

• Marjorie Taylor Greene, a former US congresswoman and a close friend of Trump, has warned in X-letters that any attempt to send US troops to Iran could lead to what she called a “political revolution”.
• Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, speaking to the NBC broadcaster, urged Trump to “hurt” Iran, including launching threats to its energy facilities, until it accepts what the US is doing on its nuclear program. The US and Israel have engaged civilians several times in the Iran conflict. Attacks on civilian areas are considered war crimes under international law.

In Israel

• Israel Channel 13 reported that several US cargo planes carrying weapons from German territories landed in Tel Aviv.
• Israeli media reported that the military was preparing to attack Iran again. State news agency Kan quoted an unnamed security official as saying that Israel will join the new US strike and target Iran’s powerful weapons.

In Lebanon

• Israeli violence has continued in southern Lebanon, where Israel issued an evacuation order in four towns and villages and struck two of the areas.
• Attacks were also reported in Az-Zrariyah on a moving vehicle while another attack in Tayr Debba left other people injured, Al Jazeera’s Obaida Hitto from Tyre, Lebanon said.

International markets

• Peace efforts between Iran and the US sent oil prices rising again on Monday. That pushed international Brent crude prices to around $111 a barrel, the highest in weeks.
