Israel’s actions in Lebanon – and US President Donald Trump’s failure to stop them – could lead to the collapse of Iran-US talks, says Jeremy Scahill, co-founder of Drop Site News.

Scahill tells host Steve Clemons that the chances are “very, very low” that the talks will go beyond a memorandum of understanding to a comprehensive agreement between Iran and the United States to end the US-Israel war in Iran.

If the White House “couldn’t force Israel to comply with the limited agreements” in Gaza that were established by Trump in October 2025, the leaders of Iran are doubtful about progress in their negotiations, Scahill says.
