Iran has praised Spain’s victory in Argentina after criticizing the Spanish government over Gaza and the war with Iran.

Iran has congratulated Spain for winning the World Cup final, saying it has brought joy to people around the world who oppose America and Israel.

The winning side appeared in the financial media to have received support from people around the world, due to the Spanish government’s condemnation of Israel’s deadly war in Gaza and Madrid’s condemnation of the US-Israeli war on Iran.

On the other hand, Israeli politicians and football fans gathered in Argentina, whose president, Javier Milei, has been a strong supporter of Israel’s policies.

“The protection of the players of the Palestinian people and the support of Spain to Iran … have shown that freedom and independence are the characteristics of a wise and honorable country,” the Supreme Leader of Iran, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, said on Monday in a statement reported by the IRNA news agency.

He added that Spain’s 1-0 victory “not only warmed the hearts of the Spanish people but also the hearts of many free and independent and justice-loving countries around the world”.

Earlier, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Mr. Esmaeil Baghaei, said: “The behavior of the Spanish national team and the way Spain has been in the past months in the fight against brutality, murder and oppression were very important.
