“The proposals were raised through mediators and were presented to us,” he told reporters at a press conference in Tehran.

Baghaei said diplomatic efforts are coming in lockstep and the military after the recent political divide between the brave and the middle classes.

He also urged regional countries not to allow the US military to use their territory to launch or support attacks on Iranian soil in continuation of the US-Israeli war against Iran that began on February 28.

The battle begins again

This comes after recent tensions between Tehran and Washington, and Iran’s bridges, roads, and military facilities.

Iran has carried out its attacks on Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan and other Arab countries, including civilian weapons, which it says are targeting US forces in these countries.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Washington is “always open to legislative solutions”. But he added that Iran’s missile strikes and drone strikes, which killed three Americans last week, were an obstacle to talks.

Rubio also said that a “division” has emerged among Iranian officials, with one group wanting to continue the war with the US and others wanting to negotiate.

Iran’s top spokesman, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, also responded to Rubio on Monday, saying that while the US says it wants to end the war, it continues to import military equipment into the region.

“We have reached the level of a full professor in understanding the American game, and we have prepared ourselves. Actions must prove the claims, not contradict them,” Ghalibaf wrote on X on Monday.

The US launched a ninth consecutive day in Iran overnight, through the Strait of Hormuz region, to areas such as Tabriz in the northwest of Iran.

On Sunday, the US military struck a nuclear weapons facility being built in Darkhovin, which Iran said had no military purpose. It says the targeting of civilian infrastructure reflects US opposition to Iran’s economic progress and development.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and civilian forces have continued to attack US forces. The IRGC released a video on Monday afternoon showing Kheibar Shekan, Fateh-110, Zolfaghar and Emad rocket launchers being used in the latest attack.

“Anyone who compromises the security of the Iranian people will never be safe!” read a message posted on one of the missiles in Arabic and English.

Tankers and other merchant ships have also been affected in the Strait of Hormuz, where about a fifth of the world’s energy passed before the war. The US naval blockade of southern Iranian ports he continues, trying to disrupt the country’s economy.

Attack on the ground

A US bombing in southern Iran has led to speculation that the US military is planning an attack on the region.

Baghaei, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, warned on Monday that it was “counting the minutes to welcome” US troops. This includes any attack on the Kharg Island, where Iran exports almost all of its oil.

Few believe that such an effort by the US would be possible, let alone sit on the ground while Iran maintains a formidable arsenal of drones and missiles.

“It is unlikely that they will be able to capture the land without much difficulty, and then holding it would be another matter,” said a state television host on the anti-war program Be Vaght-e Iran. “But even if all this happened, it wouldn’t be the end of the world.”

Several Iranian officials continue to discuss the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by the US last month, which has now been suspended by both sides.

Speaking in Tehran at a ceremony on Monday, President Masoud Pezeshkian defended the MoU saying that none of its 14 articles indicated abandoning the principles of the Islamic Republic or national interests.
