Tehran’s top leader says that if “Iran’s security cannot be guaranteed, no infrastructure will be safe”.
Iran has threatened to launch more attacks in the Gulf region if the strikes by the United States military do not stop, warning that “no infrastructure will be safe” unless its security is guaranteed.
The Supreme Leader of Iran, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, gave the message on X Wednesday, the US President, Donald Trump, threatened to attack many factories and bridges of Iran.

“In a region where we don’t sell oil, nobody can sell oil,” said Ghalibaf. “If our security cannot be guaranteed, no base will be safe.”
Ghalibaf’s statement, threatening the same as other Iranian officials, came later eleven straight US nightssome of which hit Iran’s power plants and roads.
Both sides have been targeting civilians, which is a war crime under international law unless it is used for military purposes.
Iran’s Ministry of Health says the US attack since late last month has killed 53 people, including three children, and injured 590 others.
Iran has repeatedly responded to US attacks attacks on US allies Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan this week, including hitting water and electricity in Kuwait.
An Iranian attack on an airport in Jordan on Friday killed three US service members, while a fourth US soldier was killed on Sunday in Erbil, Iraq in a drone strike. Their deaths brought the total number of US casualties during the war to 18, according to the US military.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran would retaliate “an eye for an eye” against any future protests.
“Any violence against Iran, including infrastructure, will force a strong and decisive response,” Araghchi said.
Iran’s military said Washington’s threat “will have no other effect than the spread of war”.
“Neither side wants to look weak by backing down,” Mehran Kamrava, a professor of government at Georgetown University in Qatar, told Al Jazeera.
But he said Iran is “also running out of options in terms of the number of targets it can attack” without causing significant damage to its territory.
Trump ‘had enough hope’
More and more attack has prompted both sides to say they will abandon the peace agreement they signed last month, at least for now.
The main point of contention is the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran insists on controlling. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said the road “remains open to traffic” despite “threats and attacks” by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
The Iran-allied Houthis in Yemen have also threatened the second most important energy channel, the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, and announcing the closure of Saudi portswhich caused the five ships to change course in the Red Sea.
Trump stepped up protests on Wednesday by saying the US would attack the lights or one bridge in Iran every time the Iranian military targets a ship in the Strait of Hormuz.
“President Trump has had enough time to wait for the Iranians, and there seems to be no credible mediator to bring the Iranians to the table,” Muhanad Seloom, associate professor at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, told Al Jazeera.
As mediators rushed to save the crumbling US-Iran allianceRubio said Wednesday that Iran is not serious about negotiations, even though Iranian officials have been reaching out to Washington.
“If they are serious, we are serious. If they are not, then we will do what we can to protect our interests, and the interests of our partners,” Rubio told reporters at a meeting of Southeast Asian foreign ministers in Manila.
