Iran’s presence at the tournament, which will take place between June 11 and July 19, has been unclear since the US and Israel launched a war in the Middle East in February.

The president of the Iranian Football Federation (FFIRI) Mehdi Taj told television on Friday that Tehran has 10 conditions to go to the international show, seeking the assurance of the country’s support.

The conditions include the granting of visas and respect for the national team’s staff, the team’s flag and the national anthem during the tournament, as well as strict security at airports, hotels and on the way to the stadiums where they will play.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has confirmed that Iranian football players will be welcomed to the tournament.
