From the magic of Demarco to the youth train of Yildiz and Baz… Calcio League officially announces the Best Awards
Inter Milan left-back Federico Demarco has been named the Italian League’s player of the season (2025-2026), capping an exceptional career in which he broke the all-time Serie A record for assists in a single season as he helped the Nerazzurri to a league and cup double.
Demarco’s selection came after he directly contributed to 24 goals, scoring 6 goals and providing 18 assists, the highest number of assists by a single player in the history of the Italian league.
According to the “Football Italia” website, the executive director of the Italian league, Luigi De Ciervo, praised the full-back of the international team. “Demarco stood out due to his high technical quality, and his exceptional left foot scored 6 goals and 18 assists, an absolute record in the history of Serie A.”

De Ciervo commented on Chivo’s achievement, saying: “Chivo showed the winning DNA he had as a player, allowing his team to score more than two goals per game as a tactical average. It took him just 48 league games as a manager to win the Italian title, second only to Jose Mourinho in the three-point era.”
In the rest of the awards, Turkish young star Kenan Yıldız won the Best New Player award, confirming Juventus’ high confidence in his talent despite the Bianconeri’s difficult season, while the Best Goalkeeper award went to Mile Svilar as the culmination of his outstanding form defending Roma’s net.
