Intel’s first gaming chip is the Arc G3, and this Acer uses it

There’s a lot we don’t know about the chips, which are understood to have two fewer CPUs than Intel’s Panther Lake laptop chips, but show full appreciation of the Xe3 GPU cores for running games. (We’ve heard that we may get more information from Intel soon, and I’ll add it to this article if that’s the case.)

But we already know that they will be found in the recently announced Acer Predator Atlas 8 – which could be Acer’s. first hands after Acer Nitro Blaze 78, and gigantic 11 went MIA.

The new Atlas 8 will come in two variants, one with Intel Arc G3 Extreme and its Arc B390 graphics with 12 Xe3 GPU cores, and one with Intel Arc G3 and Arc B370 with 10 Xe3 cores instead. Each one is equipped with 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM at 7467 MT/s, and after settling it is “the first model of metal in the hand” with 89 pages and an increase of air of 10 percent in the competition.

The handset weighs around 810 grams (1.79lb) with the main 80Wh battery, or 770 grams (1.7lb) with the top-end 60Wh battery – perhaps the higher-end model comes with a bigger battery, as the workhorses do.

The 8-inch screen feels above average, too. It’s a 1920 x 1200 IPS panel at a ratio of 16:10, in natural settings, with a brightness of 500 nits and 48-120Hz refresh rate, covered inside. Gorilla Glass case and Corning’s DXC anti-glare coating and 100% sRGB and 77 percent Adobe RGB coverage.

You won’t find Hall effect magnets or TMR accessories here, just carbon film clips that can be shaken, but they do have Hall effect triggers for hair straighteners, two rear buttons, and a fingertip in the power button. It will come with Windows 11 and Xbox Mode up to 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD for all types of M.2 2280. Although we haven’t touched it yet, the spec sheet shows that it is about an inch thick (28.5mm) at its thinnest point and more than two inches (58.37mm) at the grips.

And being an Intel platform, it comes with two Thunderbolt 4 ports (supporting 65W USB-C charging) and Intel’s taste of Wi-Fi 7, as well as a UHS-II microSD card reader and a 3.5mm headset jack.

The company isn’t talking about battery life or price right now, but it plans to launch the Atlas 8 in October.
