Intel makes mobile gaming PCs with the new Arc G3 processors

Most of the Steam Deck emulators on the market right now use AMD silicon, especially the Ryzen Z-series chips. These are the chips that AMD makes for standard laptops, but with different capabilities to suit handheld devices. There are Intel silicon-based handsets (MSI’s Claw is the largest), but Intel has not yet tried to make silicon commercially available specifically for this purpose.

Today, the company is throwing its hat in the ring with two Intel Arc G-series processors, which will allow gaming devices to support the company. actually quite good Arc B-series integrated GPUs. Intel often uses its “Arc” brand for integrated and dedicated GPUs, but in this case, the “Arc” brand includes the entire chip, including the CPU, GPU, NPU, and other components.

The G-series chips are similar in many ways Core Ultra Series 3 chips (called Panther Lake) that Intel is currently shipping in light and ultra-light laptops. They use the same CPU and GPU architecture and use Intel’s 18A processor (among others). But they ship with a slightly different combination of CPU and GPU cores that aren’t compatible with any Core Ultra processors.
