Inside the Meta test play with the AI

Several people said that Wang also encouraged more emphasis on shareholder value in the way that Meta has been open for so long.

Wang has worked hard to promote his vision by cultivating a culture of non-TBD startups. On a recent podcast, he argued that “a small team where everyone is ‘broken’ will always move faster than a large team where responsibilities are shared,” using a sports term to describe highly skilled professionals.

They also have a happy hour of boba tea to promote camaraderie within the secret society, according to insiders.

Most of the Meta workers have experienced a short period of time. Wang’s first year coincides with a reorganization and rotation of employees throughout the company, in order to reduce the cost of its AI investment.

Some workers have also criticized the company’s plans to launch a tracking program that would use their computers to train AI models. Meta on Tuesday told staff in a memo, seen by the FT, that it would withdraw parts of the plan following the recall.

Muse Spark has also been placed largely within Meta’s production framework, making it difficult for outsiders to evaluate. Wang also said that some foreign companies would get access through the private API, but the rollout was limited.

This model was trained using third party models, including Chinese. Some insiders have compared aspects of the system to the latest version of DeepSeek, though the extent of any similarities is disputed.

Muse Spark was praised for its clarity, but Wang admitted that he followed his competitors in writing. Several employees said that employees asked to test the example of software development projects continue to like Anthropic’s Claude.

Future models of Meta are expected to focus on writing, technical completion, and advanced multimodal capabilities, including video production.

A friend said: “It was difficult for him to gain control of the company. But he found his legacy.”
