“Real Madrid” did not participate in the transfer of Englishman Anthony Gordon to “Barcelona”, but in the coming days it can be one of his biggest beneficiaries.
According to Chiringuito, Newcastle have made a €35m bid to sign Victor Munoz following Gordon’s departure to Barcelona in a move aimed at replacing one of the team’s most prominent frontline elements.
The deal is of particular importance to Real Madrid, despite the player’s earlier departure, as the Royals still retain 50% of Munoz’s economic rights following his move to Osasuna.
According to the agreement between the two clubs when the player was sold last summer, Real Madrid will receive half of the player’s future sale value, meaning their coffers could be replenished by around €17.5 million if his move to Newcastle goes through at the proposed fee.
Munoz joined Osasuna from Real Madrid for around £4.3m, with the Royals retaining important economic rights to the player in addition to a buy-back clause.
The 22-year-old Spanish winger is regarded as one of La Liga’s hottest emerging talents as he has stood out this season, scoring 7 goals and providing 5 assists in 36 appearances across various competitions. He also boosted his stock by scoring in his first game for Spain.
If the deal goes through, Real Madrid will be one of the biggest beneficiaries despite not being directly involved in the negotiations, benefiting from the vision they had when they left the player while retaining some of his economic rights.
