A 16-day grand state fair is the biggest attraction of the 250th anniversary.
From June 25 to July 10, it runs from the US Capitol to the Washington Monument through the National Mall.
The President is presiding over the opening ceremony of the fair.
All 56 US states and territories will be represented at the expo, according to Freedom 250, which organizes the event.
Among the features of the celebration was the now-cancelled Great American State Fair Concert series, which has since made headlines. A number of actors who were scheduled to take the stage, turned back.
Several artists, including Martina McBride, The Commodores, Young MC and Brett Michaels, have pulled out of the event, citing its connection to the White House.
Some said they didn’t realize the event was related to Freedom 250.
In turn, Trump rejected the planned concerts and instead posted on social media, “Greatest Rally, EVER!” He said he would accommodate. He billed it as “a rally to stop a rally” and said some artists are still at the event.
Lee Greenwood, who performs God Bless the USA at Trump rallies, said he will introduce it and teno Christopher Macchio will sing at the event.
“We don’t need any talented singers, but we told them all to stay home so you can sleep big,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “All we need is you, me, some speakers and the best music you’ve ever played, the same music you’ve been listening to for years!”
On Tuesday afternoon, country singer Alexis Wilkins announced that her longtime girlfriend, FBI Director Kash Patel, would be performing at Wednesday’s event.
