Video technology vindicates Al-Zaim at the end of the Saudi League
Jordanian refereeing expert Ahmed Abu Khadija put an end to the controversy that followed the disallowance of Al-Fayha’s goal against Al-Hilal.
In the thirty-fourth and final round of the Roshan League, Al Hilal hosted Al Fayha at the Al Majmaah Sports City Stadium today, Thursday.
According to Saudi newspaper Al-Midan Sports, Ahmed Abu Khadija confirmed the validity of the decision, explaining that disallowing Al-Fayha’s goal against Al-Hilal was a “wise decision”.
The arbitration expert said: “There was a detection of offside by the referee and his decision not to award the goal was correct and beyond doubt.”
Al Hilal will head into the match looking to pick up three points and keep up the pressure in the race for top spot in the Roshen League table, while expecting any slip-up at Al Nasr to reshape the landscape of the title race.
In the last round, Al-Nasr drew with Al-Hilal in the Riyadh derby in a clash that kept the title scoreboard open until the final round.
