Is the era of two Arab stars over with “Tigers”?
Al-Ittihad club legend Khamis Al-Zahrani has criticized Algerian Hossam Ouar and Moroccan Youssef En Nesiri, two of the team’s stars, demanding they leave the ranks of the Tigers before the start of the next season.
Al-Zahrani said in his statements to “Al-Arabiya” TV channel. “Al-Ittihad are heading for a very big season but have a depth problem, especially with new German coach Jens Wiesing’s ideas.”
“Al-Ittihad needs a lot of depth in midfield. Neither (Hossem) Ouar, nor Fabinho, nor (Youssef) En-Nessiri can play the roles that the coach is expected to ask of them, which are direct play, pressing and quick transitions.
“Al-Ittihad need midfielders, Fabinho, Ouarr and En-Nesiri will come under the manager’s supervision so that he can make an appropriate decision on them as soon as possible, especially as Fabinho’s contract is already up.”
He added: “These files require speed of decision-making in addition to quality selection, especially since the coach has now gotten to know the players, put his hand on the wound and has to fill the gaps with different deals.”
“What I know is that Al-Ittihad will bring two players in the midfield, one to replace Fabinho and the other to play like Mamadou Doumbia, and Aouar’s position depends on the squad and the number of foreign players.”
He concluded. “Al-Ittihad is facing a thorny problem and time is very tight, especially in light of the financial difficulties, in addition to the presence of a new coach who does not have much experience in managing a team as big as Al-Ittihad.”
