The Senegalese goalkeeper stands to watch an Algerian player score an own goal
Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahli’s lead was short-lived as after Ivan Toni had given his side the lead from the penalty spot, Al-Fateh came back to make their point.
A smart pass from Farkas and a decisive touch from Sufyan Bin Dabkeh put the Saudi Roshan League back on top in the match postponed from Round 28.
Al-Fateh equalized with hosts Al-Ahly at Jeddah’s Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium after Algerian Sufyan Ben Dabke’s goal, assisted by his Argentine counterpart Matias Vargas.
Al-Ahly took the lead in the 27th minute through their England striker Ivan Toney, who converted a penalty which the team won after an outstanding move by Riyad Mahrez in the box.
But Al-Fateh’s response didn’t take long as Farkas managed to hit the Al-Ahly defense with a perfect pass to Ben Dabke, who didn’t hesitate to slot the ball past Senegal’s Edouard Mendy to announce his side’s comeback just five minutes into the second half.
The equalizer came to confirm Al-Ahly’s physical suffering in the clash, with his players clearly fatigued after a difficult week that included the AFC Champions League title for the top flight and two strong encounters against Al-Nasr and Al-Khulud.
