Historic photo of stellar history
The Jordanian national team entered the history of the World Cup after they managed to advance the score for the first time in the history of participation in the World Cups during the confrontation with the Algerian national team in the second round of the group stage of the 2026 World Cup held in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
Nizar Al-Rashdan scored the historic goal in the 39th minute to give Al-Nashama the lead in the game, a moment that Jordanian and Arab streets had been waiting for.
Jordan’s team is participating in the World Cup for the first time in its history, and despite the difficulties in the group of Argentina, Austria and Algeria, Al-Nashama showed great character from the first minute.
The lead over Algeria means that Jordan are no longer just looking for a respectable appearance, but have entered real competition for a place in the next round.
According to the French “Statsfoot” football statistical network, the Algerian national team kept a clean sheet only once in 15 matches of the World Cup, and that was on June 18, 2010 in the match against England.
Jordan’s progress at the World Cup for the first time opened the door to bigger dreams. Three points made possible, qualification is no longer a distant dream and, regardless of the outcome of the final match, Jordan’s name has entered the World Cup records as the “leader”.
