The defender of the Saudi Arabian national team comments on the expected match
Saudi Arabia defender Jihad Zikri has challenged Spain’s players ahead of their upcoming match at the 2026 World Cup finals, currently hosted by America, Canada and Mexico.
The Saudi Arabian national team will meet its Spanish partner in the second round of the 2026 World Cup group stage next Sunday at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in the American city of Atlanta.
Jihad Zakri said during the “Dorina Ghir” program of the “Saudi” channel. “I have a lot of Spanish colleagues at Al-Qadisiya and they always challenge us that they will win against us, but we tell them that it is impossible and that we will do everything to silence them when we come back.”
Zikri also expressed his confidence in the coach of the Saudi Arabian national team, Greek Giorgos Donis, saying: “The coach knows them and analyzes them for a while and he will give us the most solutions that will stop their danger and we have to implement them well.”
He concluded. “The crowd at the last match was great and we thank the Saudi fans for their continued and lasting support. This always gives us a lot of motivation, and we hope that the attendees at the next meeting will be the same way.”

It is noteworthy that all the teams included in the eighth group, which includes Saudi Arabia, Spain, Uruguay and Cape Verde, have one point each, after the matches of the first round ended in a draw.
