Abdel Aziz revealed that he had lodged a complaint with the Media High Council “because of the deliberate insulting criticism, defamation and continued defamation of the dean”, he said.

He continued. “Criticism of Hossam Hassan is personal and far from technical criticism of his performance and results with the Egyptian national team.”

The lawyer added that he previously submitted another complaint against Reda Abdel Ali to the Chief Prosecutor, Counselor Mohamed Shawki, a week ago.

Abdel-Al criticized Hossam Hasan after the 1-1 draw with Belgium in the Pharaohs’ opening game of the 2026 World Cup, insisting his changes were wrong, notably the removal of Mohamed Salah and Imam Ashour, and demanding “fairness” from the Pharaohs coach.
