Real Madrid’s Spanish midfielder Dani Ceballos is close to leaving the team in the current summer transfer window, after being mostly out of the club’s accounts recently.
According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Ajax Amsterdam are close to signing Ceballos from Real Madrid in a deal worth around €6 million.
The report states that talks between the two clubs are progressing positively, with optimism that a deal will be completed in the near future, especially as the player himself is not averse to a new experience outside of the Spanish league.
Ajax see Ceballos as an important addition to their midfield, especially after signing Spanish coach Mitchell to take charge of the team in the new season, as the Dutch club look to bolster their ranks with players with extensive experience at European level.
Ceballos was close to leaving Real Madrid to join French side Marseille, but ultimately failed to complete the deal before his departure came to the fore again this summer.
The Spanish midfielder has had two spells at Real Madrid in seven seasons, including a loan spell at Arsenal, but has failed to force himself into the starting line-up on a regular basis, making his exit from the Royals closer than ever.
