When I got my hands on Trump’s phone and tore it apart, iFixit confirmed what I started it was also reported in February: The T1 phone is exactly the same as the HTC U24 Pro.
iFixit agreed with NBC to handle it example of social media Trump, along with U24 Pro. They ran the phones through a CT scanner, broke them down to parts, and reassembled them into a working Frankenstein phone with the U24 Pro board inside the T1 Phone chassis, proving that the two phones worked identically.
There are small differences: the flash has been moved a little, the speaker connector has been changed, and the chipset package – while still the same – was provided by Micron for Trump’s phone, and SK Hynix for HTC. The biggest change is the battery: Trump’s phone is a bit bigger, and it’s made in the Philippines rather than China, although it supports 30W slow charging.
We’ve long suspected that the T1 Phone is identical to the U24 Pro, as both phones share the same chassis design, similar specifications, and similar headrest and microSD card slots. iFixit’s work here just confirms this.
HTC said earlier Seaside that it “does not make or manufacture third-party phones,” but cannot confirm the details of the U24 Pro’s design. Because HTC sold most of its mobile business to Google in 2017, it appears that it contracted with a third-party company to design and manufacture the U24 Pro, and Trump Mobile turned to the same company for its T1 Phone.
