Paris Saint-Germain are in talks with RB Leipzig over a move for Liverpool target Yann Diomond.
Sky Sports News The 19-year-old winger has hinted at joining the European and French champions.
Liverpool were willing to pay £86m, but Leipzig wanted significantly more for the Ivory Coast international.
The Premier League side are reluctant to go any further than that, which appears to give PSG a clear run at the winger.
The French club have a contract with Diomond until 2031, but club-to-club talks between PSG and Leipzig are ongoing.
Regardless of the player’s choice, an agreement must be reached with Leipzig for the transfer to go ahead.
The City of Manchester is also monitoring the situation.
Liverpool turned their attention to Diomande after landing Osasuna winger Victor Munoz for £34.5m.
In a surprise move, the Reds swooped in after Newcastle struck a deal for the Spain international, who mainly plays on the left but can also be used on the right and through the middle.
Under new boss Andoni Iraola, Liverpool want a number of attacking signings to replace the departed Mo Salah.
But now it looks like they will be forced to look elsewhere than Diomonde.
