The star of the Cote d’Ivoire national team and the German club “Leipzig” Jan Diomande has sent a touching message to his late sister Roxana, who died last year at the age of 15.
Diomande will take part in the 2026 World Cup with Cote d’Ivoire and contributed to his country’s 1-0 victory over Ecuador in the first round of the group stage.
Diomande is raising controversy in the summer transfer window as more than one club have expressed an interest in signing him, such as Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain.
The 19-year-old Ivorian star posted the message on The Players’ Tribune, making it one of the most influential stories of the 2026 World Cup.
