Huge deal.. Barcelona preparing alternative plan after Alvarez

Atletico Madrid’s Argentinian Julian Alvarez remains Barcelona’s first target to replace Robert Lewandowski and bolster the Catalan outfit’s attack from next season.

The newspaper reported.Mundo Deportivo:“Barcelona” has one priority in the summer transfer market – to sign a direct striker after the departure of Robert Lewandowski.

He added that the main target of the Catalan club is Julian Alvarez. However, Barcelona’s board of directors are currently up against Atletico Madrid’s refusal to sell the Argentine forward.

Alvarez’s contract with Atletico Madrid runs until 2030, and he has a €500 million release clause in his contract.

The newspaper noted that the Catalan club has an alternative plan. Granted, it’s not a priority, but it’s a strong option if the Julián Alvarez deal falls through.

According to the Catalan publication, the player is a promising talent who could be a suitable replacement for Robert Lewandowski, and in anticipation of any contingency in the Alvarez deal, Barcelona have other options, one of which appears to be a massive deal (without naming the player).
