In the past month, right-wing candidates won presidential elections in Peru and Colombia.

This is the latest addition to the growing number of conservative leaders who have come to power in Latin America over the past three years.

They echoed some of US President Donald Trump’s statements on crime and immigration.

So, is this part of the new regional agreement on restraint?
