Samsung’s latest Galaxy Z foldable phones and updated smartwatches were announced at its July 2026 Unpacked event and will be launched on August 7. The Galaxy Z Flip 8, Fold 8and Fold 8 Ultra don’t appear to people who bought last year’s model; Apart from a few design changes and AI features, there isn’t much new – unless we’re talking about the Z Fold 8.
The Z Fold 8 is the most interesting foldable in the US this year, that is, unless Apple is rumored to be foldable will arrive in the coming months. Although its name makes it sound like a successor to last year’s Z Fold 7, it’s a new, shorter version that starts at $1,899.99. It has a 7.6-inch main screen, and a 5.5-inch external screen – smaller than the new one. $2,099.99 Z Fold 8 Ultra. It’s almost as full-featured as the Ultra, with some exceptions, like having a 50-megapixel main camera instead of a 200-megapixel lens, and a smaller 4,800mAh battery. There are three configurations, with 256GB and 512GB models with 12GB of memory, and a 1TB model upgraded to 16GB of RAM.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is, in many ways, a direct successor to the Z Fold 7, but with a new name. It has a large 8.0-inch screen and a 6.5-inch screen that has the same size and shape as the previous model, as well as the aforementioned 200-megapixel camera with 3X telephoto optical zoom. It has the same storage and memory as the smaller Fold 8.
Finally, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is the most affordable model to date $1,199.99. Of the three models, the Flip 8 appears to have the fewest hardware changes. Its battery capacity has not changed, as has its camera. However, it has a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 instead of the Exynos 2500 used in the Flip 7. We have to wait until the review to see if the change will make a difference; our review of last year’s mobile phone did not show any problems working with the device made by Samsung.
Although this is about high-level changes, we have the full papers below for you to read.
