The NHS says many people don’t use enough sunscreen.
It is recommended that adults use it around Six to eight teaspoons of tea, External If they cover their whole body.
Sunscreen should be applied to the face, neck and ears – and the head if you have thin or no hair – 30 minutes before going out in the sun.
It should be reapplied every two hours, or after you sweat a lot, get in the water, or dry yourself with a towel.
This is true even if the sunscreen claims to be water resistant or claims to be long lasting.
However, no sunscreen provides complete protection from UV rays.
Therefore, you should wear pants or skirts that do not allow sunlight, long-sleeved tops, sun hats, and sunglasses.
Spend time in the shade during the hottest part of the day.
