A new world era is upon us
Press reports have revealed new moves that could change the future of Al-Nasr Club in the coming period, given the ongoing work on the project to privatize sports clubs and offer investment shares to investors.
As reported by Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, Al-Nasr’s former chairman Ibrahim Al-Muhaydib is considering a bid to acquire the investment stake allocated to the new owner, if it is officially offered, through an investment fund that includes 4 prominent figures, including another former chairman of the club.
Sources say that the organized investment fund intends to apply to buy the investment stake as soon as the door to competition officially opens, either in the middle of next season or in the summer of next year, according to the timetable for the privatization case.
According to the same sources, Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo could be part of the upcoming investment project, with a certain percentage of the stake allocated to the new investor, representing 70% of the club’s ownership, while 30% will remain with the Public Investment Fund, according to the expected structure.
The sources add that Al-Muhaydib is considering joining the project in partnership with a number of influential Nassar figures in addition to Ronaldo, a move aimed at acquiring an investment stake in the club once it is officially launched.
Al-Muhaydib is currently prioritizing a candidacy for the chairmanship of the non-profit Al-Nasr Company as a first step back into the administrative arena within the club, while monitoring developments in privatization and acquisitions.
Informed sources also confirmed that Al-Muhaydib is considered the most popular candidate to replace Abdullah Al-Majeed as head of the non-profit Al-Nasr Company, especially at the end of the current administration’s term at the end of this June.
If this investment project is completed, Ronaldo’s participation will not be limited to his role inside the green rectangle, but could contribute to shaping Al-Nasr’s administrative and investment future, a move that will be one of the most famous in the club’s history in recent years.
