Pareira: The prestige of the yellow jersey always makes the difference
Days before the start of the 2026 World Cup finals, veteran Brazilian Carlos Alberto Parreira, the architect of the Seleção’s historic fourth World Cup title triumph in the USA in 1994, has issued a stark warning and a very important message to the current generation of Brazil players.
In an interview with the Record newspaper, Barrera said: Very realistic and poignant about the current situation of his country’s national team“Our football is no longer the best in the world,” he said unequivocally.
Despite this harsh critical tone, the 83-year-old coach wanted to send a strong warning message to all rivals, asking them not to underestimate the Brazilian giant in the big forums, continuing with confidence:

Pareira said in surprise about this football tragedy. “Such things happen in football. The inexplicable can never be explained. How to explain that shocking result (7-1)? The first half is almost over and the result already shows that we are five behind,” stressing that the match will remain a mystery difficult for technical analysis.
