Before founding Legacy, Bush worked for several other funeral directors. During his career, he presided over more than 2,000 funerals.
Many former clients said he presented Bush as an archetypal, thoughtful painter. A point made by Hull West and Haltemprice MP Emma Hardy.
“He tried to do what he thought of as a friend,” said Hardy, who supports several families.
Bush “exploited the most vulnerable people” when they were at their lowest point, she said.
In June 2024, Peter Moody’s family held a second funeral for Bush after he was exposed – six months after the first.
His daughter described the first, including how Bush pulled us out of the service and how the family “couldn’t grieve together.”
“As soon as the curtain closed on my father, he wanted us out,” she added.
