After his statements, the president of Real Madrid was attacked by the Spanish media
The backlash to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez’s latest statements is still ongoing and has left him vulnerable to criticism from various media outlets.
Peres caused widespread controversy with his latest statementsWhere he talked about the many hot files surrounding Royals, from his future at the helm, going through internal crises, to the arbitration case and the Negrea case, which still casts a shadow over Spanish football.
Perez’s comments came amid a tense atmosphere at Real Madrid on more than one level, prompting the Merengue president to issue direct and sometimes sharp messages clearly defending his administration, in addition to some opposition voices and outspoken attacks from some media outlets.
“Mundo Deportivo” newspaper commented on Perez’s statements saying: The president of “Real” received some support, but criticism was the majority… Everyone who knows Florentino Perez knows his true nature, and should not be surprised by what happened. This is one of the most common expressions describing the president of Real Madrid.
For his part, Radio Cadena Cope journalist Manolo Lama said very clearly. “Those who had the opportunity to contact him know that he is a big fan of Real Madrid. He went there with the idea of calling elections, but at the press conference he started receiving messages and got into tension.
He added: “Honestly, I felt sorry for him, because Florentino had gone from being a terrible, then lovable person, to now he was pathetic.”
