The promise of great deals
Before officially announcing his candidacy, Florentino Perez has proactively launched his campaign for Real Madrid president, launching a website and social media accounts to secure an eighth term at the helm of the Royals, his sixth in a row since returning in 2009.
According to Spanish media, Peres unfurled a huge banner outside the Santiago Bernabeu stadium with his campaign slogan, “A rich future awaits us,” in direct confrontation with Enrique Riquelme, his first election challenger since 2004.
A clear message to the competitor
The current chairman, who is 78, reviewed his career in charge of the Royals in a promotional video for which he spoke, sending a message that could be crucial:
Peres concluded the video with a shocking statement. “Greatness is not a product of chance and it is not inherited because the best club in the world never stops,” clearly indicating the need to continue the strategic approach he has followed throughout his presidency.
Proven track record of achievement
Perez has defended his managerial record, stressing that his project is part of “the best era in the history of world football”, citing the 66 titles the club have won under his leadership, including seven Champions League titles.
He noted that “Real Madrid” has become the most expensive club in the world, enjoys the highest incomes and the best reputation, emphasizing at the same time. “Leadership cannot be taken for granted.”
The Spanish press noted that Peres is directing voters that any attempt to change the administration now is an adventure to stop the speeding train of success.
He also stressed that running a club the size of Real Madrid requires “vision, determination and real achievements on the ground”, not just ambition or promises based on generational heritage.
Promises more stars
Perez has vowed to continue the policy of big signings, citing the inclusion of stars such as Luis Figo and Kylian Mbappe, stressing that “the arrival of the best players in the world will not be a dream, but a reality” thanks to a “vision and determination that cannot be given up”.
The new Bernabeu… the focus of the campaign
Perez considered the complete renovation of the Santiago Bernabeu stadium one of his most notable achievements, describing it as “the most advanced in the world”. He also referred to the expected expansion plans of the Valdebebas stadium as a strategic goal to “create the best environment to achieve sustainable victory”.
Innovation and leadership
The candidate emphasized his intention to “continue to work hard” in the areas of management, technology and expertise, saying: “While others are content to watch, we are inventing new ways to lead the world of sports and entertainment.”
Peres plans to reveal more details of his campaign plan tomorrow, next Wednesday, in the election, the final date of which has not yet been decided, in which all members over the age of 18 who have paid membership fees are eligible to vote.
