He deserves the Golden Ball. Paris celebrate Fabian Ruiz’s excellent season

Paris Saint-Germain celebrated their Spanish star Fabian Ruiz after bringing down the curtain on one of the most successful seasons of his football career after he won the 2026 World Cup with Spain at the expense of Argentina.

The French club released a picture of the player in a Spain shirt surrounded by the trophies he won during the season and accompanied it with the phrase “WON IT ALL” in reference to the midfielder’s exceptional achievements during the historic year.

Not only did Fabian win the World Cup, but he ended the season with an astonishing haul of titles, winning the French League, French Cup, European Champions League, French Super Cup, European Super Cup and Intercontinental Cup with Paris Saint-Germain before adding the World Cup with Spain.

The Spanish midfielder continued to set records at international level as well, reaching 50 appearances for Spain without defeat, an exceptional number that reflects his influential role at La Roja in recent years.

The World Cup title was not the only achievement that put Fabian in the history books, as he became the only player in 2026 to combine the Champions League and World Cup titles in the same year, joining a historic list that includes a limited number of stars to achieve the feat, including Franz Beckenbauer, Gerd Müller, Roberto Carlos, Sami Khedira and Rafael Vararan.

Fabian Ruiz’s exceptional season has firmly opened the door to the debate over his right to be among the top contenders for the Ballon d’Or after he combined individual brilliance and determined contributions to win major trophies with club and national team.
